Our Story

WhichInvestmentTrust.com is a community of investors that has the ambition to better educate ordinary investors, on the subject of investing; using plain every day English (well we try!).

…..but it’s important that we state that we’re still learning too. Indeed, when it comes to investing we are always learning.

Can't read it? Neither can we, click here. Irn-Bru is popular holding for Investment Trust managers.

The maker of Irn-Bru is a popular holding for Investment Trust managers (that’s the reason we’re featuring this image – honest!).

This is because becoming a good investor isn’t like learning a trade such a carpentry, watch making, distilling Irn-Bru etc. No, the process of becoming a better investor is one of continuous learning, because, unfortunately no one has yet invented the sure fire way to make rocket fuel loads of money fast from the stock market.

That doesn’t mean successful investing needs to be too hard though (honestly!), but more on that later…….

At the heart of what we do is a Community we want to nurture…….

We really want it to be inclusive not exclusive and so if you choose to join us, this will be your community too.

The most important thing we ask of others, and that we expect from ourselves, is that they’re willing to help people out when they ask for it, and in accordance with your abilities.

As it is a community, we seek to give it structure, guidance and a route map for where it might head to, but we are not trying force its direction.

If you have a view or suggestions for changes and developments you would like to see, please let us know and you can help shape and influence how our community develops.

So why investment trusts?

Quite simply they’ve been a very successful way for the ordinary folk to invest since 1868.

Indeed, as we substantiate elsewhere on this website, there is much independent research that demonstrates that investment trusts perform better over both short and long term horizons, than open ended funds (that’s Unit trusts and OEICs), which is the alternative, in most different sectors of the stock market.

So, it’s simply about performance, they generally beat the competition.

So what do you think? We’d love your feedback and your involvement.
